The District received a report regarding homeless activity in the culverts beneath Cortaro Farms Road, east of Thornydale Road, and verified the location.

The report requested review and maintenance in accordance with established protocols due to the presence of:

• Bed
• Clothing
• Shoes
• Litter
• Mirror
• Couch
• Additional debris
• Potential public health hazards

The report further noted that the couch was obstructing the river wash.

Although the encampment was verified by Pima County officials and subsequently referred to the Regional Flood Control District, the request was ultimately closed without the requested mitigation work being completed. Monitoring of the location and any subsequent County actions will continue.
